Our sole aim is for you to enjoy your time in Eddie, however it is really important that you read the terms and conditions of the rental. We realise it’s the tedious bit! It is our responsibility to offer you a great vehicle, however it is your responsibility to return the vehicle in the condition it was rented to you. Please feel free to make contact with us if you require clarity on any of the points listed. We realise the technical/legal bit can come across a bit brusque that’s really not our style but it’s still done with a smile and coming from a good place.

We will take you around the whole vehicle ensuring you are satisfied with Eddie and how he works. We will also show you how to assemble the tent and the awning and guide you through all the equipment available for your rental. At the same time you will be given a guide for each piece of equipment to ensure you take full advantage off all Eddie can offer. We do not allow smoking in the vehicle at any time.
Returning the vehicle
All we ask is to return the vehicle on the agreed date and time in the condition you received it. Some mud and dirt will be expected it suits Eddie, however if there is excessive cleaning required inside or outside a charge of £25 per hour will be charged and removed from your deposit.
Fuel & Healthcheck
On arrival Eddie will have a full tank of Diesel. All we ask is you return Eddie with a full tank of diesel for the next customer. Eddie is a loved vehicle and as such he would appreciate a check over daily to ensure there are no faults in tyre pressure, lights, oil and water in the washer jets. He will endeavour to give you a maintenance free rental ensuring you really don’t want to say goodbye to him during the handover at the end of your rental period. We would appreciate you do not tow a trailer or use the vehicle as a recovery vehicle. Whilst we understand Eddie is more than capable, the insurance will not cover this type of use.
Dogs
Please make us aware prior to the rental if you are intending to bring your dog(s). We do not charge extra and allow a maximum of 2 dogs. We want your four legged family member(s) to enjoy their trip as much as yourselves. Please bring your dogs own bedding / chews to ensure they remain familiar with their surroundings. Eddie has high quality seat covers to protect his seats, however any chewing or excessive scratching attributed to your dog is not covered under insurance and will be charged directly back to you. Dogs are not allowed in the tent at anytime. If found that you have contravened this request a cost to clean the tent will be applied. Dogs must be suitably restrained in adherance with the Highway Code, we supply a seatbelt restraint however we recommend using your own if you already have one available. Failure to restrain a dog while travelling can result in a fine of up to £5000 and will invalidate the insurance.
Security of the vehicle
Whilst we try to ensure Eddie remains in the location you left him, we need your support in ensuring you lock the vehicle at all times when not attended. Please remove the keys from the ignition and never leave the vehicle running unattended. We do have a tracker installed to ensure the vehicle is driven carefully by yourselves and more importantly if the vehicle is removed without your authorisation. The vehicle is equipped with a detachable steering wheel and lock. We will take you through this during the handover, Sadly Eddie is appealing to many people. We wish him to remain in our family and not someone else’s.
In the event of an accident
We hope this never happens, however we have supplied Eddie with all emergency contact numbers. In the event if there is an accident please notify the police, ourselves and the insurance company. Where possible please take photos of the incident. The priority is your safety and your occupants. In the event of an accident, an obligation for full cooperation would be mandatory.
Breakdown policy
In the event of a breakdown, we do have RAC cover to get you up and running again. In the unlikely event Eddie requires a more detailed repair, we will make you aware. Our responsibility is limited to refunding the daily rental rate or portion thereof covering the period from when the fault was initially notified to us until a repair has been completed.
Using the vehicle off road
Off roading in England is strictly prohibited. As a result, vehicles are not to be driven off road without prior permission of the land owner and under supervision. The Road Traffic Act 1988 states that you can only drive a vehicle off-road – away from a public road – for the purpose of parking and within 15 yards of a public road. Any recovery costs or damage to the vehicle caused from flouting this clause will be wholly the responsibility of the hirer, and the full security deposit will be forfeited.
