Frequently asked questions
-
What is the minimum age I can drive Eddie?
To comply with our vehicle insurance, we ask that you are 30 years or over and upto the age of 75. We ask that each driver be present on the day of handover and that they have held a driving licence for a minimum of 2 years.
-
What is the minimum rental time?
We really do want you to get the best out of these beautiful counties. There is a minimum hire of 2 nights or three days. Please feel free to contact us and we will try to be as flexible as we can to accommodate. If you do not have time to complete the whole route we can suggest shorter itineraries to cover parts of the route.
-
Is there a maximum rental period?
To appreciate the journey created by EastAnglia350 we recommend a 5/6 night stay depending on your commitments. Naturally if you wish to create your own journey through the counties, we would be delighted to help you. Please feel free to contact us if you have specific rental dates in mind.

I am new to camping what should I bring?
Eddie is equipped with everything you will need to have a fantastic experience. From binoculars, to cooking utensils to a high spec charger for all your electrical gadgets. All we ask is you bring a sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, clothing and a sense of curiosity.
-
It's a Landrover, can I take it off road?
It is an amazing vehicle, however respectfully we ask it remains on the roads. We do have a tracker with telemetry installed to ensure the vehicle is driven carefully by yourselves and more importantly if the vehicle is removed without your authorisation. Your security deposit maybe be withheld if it is used out of the remit of the T&C’s.
-
How many occupants will Eddie hold?
Eddie and the extra roomy roof tent is ideally suited for 2 people. If more than 2 are travelling we do have a SoulPad canvas bell tent which can be hired in addition. Please contact us if you have specialist requests.
-
Do I need to follow the route?
Not at all. The route is not prescriptive but a guide highlighting some of our beautiful region. Ideally we would like you to stay in Norfolk and Suffolk but if you would like to venture further afield do get in contact with us to discuss and we will do our best too accommodate.
-
Can I camp anywhere?
Wild camping is not permitted in the UK. Whilst Eddie is a Land Rover with a tent on top, some camp sites are very particular and therefore we would suggest you plan ahead and book your stay to avoid disappointment. Some sites are quite specific about what is permitted on site. We can happily advise and we have some personal favourites too.
-
Can I bring a pet?
Of course up to 2 well behaved dog(s) are very much welcomed. It’s a terrific area for dogs. A seat harness needs to be used when you are on the move. Dogs are not allowed in the roof tent but can stay in Eddie in super comfort affording all a good nights rest.

The questions I never asked
With the roof tent on top of Eddie he is quite a tall chap. (240 cm) Please check any height restrictions and do not attempt to go under bridges lower than 8ft / 2.4m.
The Reedham Ferry is a quirky way to cross the River Yare and far more fun and scenic than the Norwich ring road which will add 40 minutes to your journey. It only takes a couple of minutes and you can have a ‘mardle’ with the ferryman.

Tide times
We supply Tide Time booklets for both Norfolk and Suffolk. Occasionally some areas of the North Norfolk coastlines can be cut off with high tides so it is always important to check. Tide times
